In order to encourage students to participate in various programmes and activities and widen their horizon and experience, which is important for their all round development, the school has the following clubs and forums



 

Astronomy Club                      ^


INITIATION

The Astronomy Club of Bal Bharati Public School was founded in 2004. It got itself registered with S.P.A.C.E - an organisation of eminent astronomers and science educators

CLUB OBJECTIVES

  • To develop scientific temper among students
  • To ensure and encourage to become Amateur Astronomers

CLUB MODULES
At present two levels of programmes are running:

  • Module I - Basic Level
  • Module II - Intermediate Level

CLUB STRENGTH
50 students per module.

CLUB ACTIVITIES
Theory Sessions - There have been astonomy sessions on various topics like journey on the Beam of Light, Solar System, Solar Walk, Directions, Seasons, Moons etc.

Practical Sessions

  • Sky Observations - Overnight sessions to Nuh for night sky observation.
  • Locating Constellations using Planasphere.
  • Locating Planets, Satellites, Solar clusters using Planasphere and Telescope.
  • Vists to Planetarium.

Astronomy session at Jantar-Mantar to understand Jantar-Mantar as observatory.

  • Evening session of Module-I on Aliens and different Phases of Moon.
  • Evening session of Module-II on Astrophotography.
  • Inter-School Activity - The club organised Inter-School Kalpana Chawala Quiz.
  • International Project - 10 Students and 2 Teachers participated in Vamana Project for finding the distance between the sun and the earth using Venus Transit.
  • Designing and making of various Astronomy equipments and models like Sun Oral, Longitude Finder etc.

Eco Club                                  ^

The Eco Club has been integral part of the school activities since the year 2001. The objective of the club is to create awareness about environmental degradation and steps to prevent the same. Waste management, water pollution, rain water harvesting, save air sky by taking measures to prevent depletion of ozone layer were some of the important issues. The motto of Eco Club is to minimize the use of plastic bags, no crackers and smokeless diyas.

Economics Club                       ^

All Students studying Economics in the Senior Secondary Department of BBPS ( GRHM) are members of this Club

Participating in Inter-School Symposiums Quizzes & Competitions  on all topics related to the World of Economic fall under purview of the Economics Club.

Currently the club has been entrusted with the work of developing an Inter-national level project on the topic :

DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE OF INDIA – A COMPARISON WITH  NEIGHBOURS


Interact Club                           ^

Interact Club is a service cum social club for the people aged 14-18 sponsored by Rotary Club. The first interact club was founded on 28th Oct’1962. The interact club of Bal Bharati Public School, GRHM, is very actively involved in doing community work. Its activities include :

Raising fund for Charity
Anti_Cracker Campaign
Distribution of Fruits and Stationery among school going children in Slums.
Helping NGOs , Blind Schools by donating school bags,  old newspapers, grocery, stationery, etc.
Conducting Competitions for the school students like Slogan writing, Pot decoration, Essay writing & so on.
Celebrating Events like World Elders Day, Leprosy Day, Armed Forces Flag Day, etc.

Last but not the least holding medical camps in the slums.

Interact Club aims at creating among the students, a concern for the community and making them responsible citizens of the country, bringing a smile on the faces of less fortunate and comforting them .

NIE and PACE Programmes    ^

Newspaper motivate a child to look out for something new everyday and thus “ infuse in him a thirst for knowledge “

Realizing the importance of newspapers as a  teaching aid, The Times of India’s NIE programme, since its inception, has been an integral part of our school life. In the year 2001 the PACE programme of the Hindustan Times was also introduced.

These newspaper programmes are conducted by eminent resource persons from Fine Arts & Crafts. Students get an opportunity to exhibit their talent through various competitions – Drawing, Debates, Theatre etc. regularly organized by newspaper programmes.
